Language Immersion
The CASAS Spanish program has welcomed thousands of students from the USA, Canada, and Europe who came to learn or improve their Spanish. You, too, can take advantage of this opportunity! Study 3 or 4 hours of Spanish study for up to 5 days per week, Monday-Friday. Classes are held at 8:30 am-11:30 am (or 12:30 pm), Monday-Friday. We can also arrange for afternoon study, 1:00-4:00 (or 5:00 pm). Class sizes are typically 1-3 persons per instructor.
After you complete your studies in Guatemala, you can further develop your language skills through our Spanish online program. We make it easy to continue learning with individual online instruction accessible from any place in the world.
Benefits of Immersive Learning
Studies show that full immersion is the best way to learn a language. Language and culture are intertwined so learning in a Spanish-speaking setting provides contextual learning in addition to the language. When you come to CASAS Spanish program you will be living within the language and speaking it every day.
Guatemalan Spanish – Slow and Clear
Spanish is the official language of 20 countries and it is widely spoken in several more. For those looking to study a language that is useful in everything from business, government, to medicine: Spanish is it. While there are many countries in which Spanish is one of the primary languages spoken, Guatemala offers some clear advantages.
When selecting a Spanish immersion program, one important consideration is the type of Spanish you want to learn. More so than English, there is a lot of linguistic diversity between countries. Guatemalan Spanish is renowned for being one of the clearer accents in the Spanish-speaking world. The dialect doesn’t contain the particular irregularities found in many other Spanish-speaking countries. Generally speaking, Guatemalans speak at a moderate pace so you will be better able to understand your new Guatemalan friends while learning the language. Guatemala Spanish is a great platform for language acquisition.
Affordable Options
Learning Spanish doesn’t have to be expensive, although it certainly can be. CASAS offers top-quality immersive Spanish experience in a beautiful setting with optional and affordable travel and hospitality amenities. Our goal is to create opportunities for learning, cultural exchange, and to support the mission of Semilla.
Spanish – College Credit
CASAS partners with many North American colleges, universities, and seminaries. We work with students and higher education institutions to secure academic credit, through the partnering institution, for language studies and academic classes. Programs can be customized to include both CASAS and client institution content.
Spanish – Non-Credit Certification
For students not seeking academic credit, CASAS also provides a Certificate of Completion, recognizing program participation. Additionally, we administer Spanish proficiency tests to verify the Spanish language level at the end of the program and can provide that to students to share with their school or employer.
